How You Can Instantly Dominate Free Traffic Using Web 2.0 Without Spending A Cent!
May 28, 2009
A major challenge of the internet is how to use it to get all the free Web 2.0 traffic everyone keeps talking about. You can instantly dominate free traffic without spending a cent when you know how to use Web 2.0 and social media networking sites. Online communities contain hundreds, thousands and even millions of likeminded people who collect and share information, experiences and data that they identify as valuable, even crucial, to their niche or special interest category.
Used cleverly social media sites can slash into a target market and mine highly valuable traffic all meeting in the one location. Social bookmarking and networking have become secret codes for internet marketing success. Blogs, web sites, and even affiliate pages are pieces of the easy to implement puzzle helping internet marketers.
Driving web site traffic is easy once you know how. And it’s free. Do you have a web site or blog but no traffic? Web 2.0 can redirect targeted visitors to your site. But how do you get pockets of easy traffic from YouTube, Friendster, Zimbio, OYAX, Ask/Jeeves, Xanga and MSN Spaces?
Got a pen? First, make a list of five high-traffic forums that relate to your niche. Google or Yahoo or MSN can help you find the top five forums in your niche. Next, submit fresh content to these forums regularly. You need to become well known. Start stockpiling some trust with forums members, and don’t forget to sign off with an enticing signature ear-marking your website. Invite people to visit with an offer a free gift, mini-series or e-book. Traffic will come. But will it be sooner or later? That really depends on the quality of what you have to say, how you say it and what’s to eat or drink at your place since you’re doing the inviting.
Next, submit high quality videos to YouTube and Google Videos. This is another easy way to get the attention of absolutely f.r.e.e. traffic to your web site. But it doesn’t stop there. Create unique articles and submit directories and free online e-zines. Remember, the word is unique.
Search engines boost quality informational content over “sales” websites everyday with their rankings. Get a blog if you don’t already have one. They rank very well with search engines and the higher your ranking the more exposure you’ll have to searching traffic. Your blog will need lots of postings with strong articles using your niche’s or target markets keywords.
The emphasis is not necessarily on ‘long’ copy but unique or fresh copy. Every method you use to get your name out there is a trail back to your site. The world is a circle and the internet is no different. You start in one place and before you know it you’re back again – posting more content and a few more friends. Rinse and repeat.
Remember, only must read or see content will generate free web traffic. Without it visitors may visit your site once but they’ll quickly lose interest and chase some other shiny object.
Don’t forget your offer. Sites often get visitors and forget a call to action. Visitors at your site must be clear about why they’re there. If you want them to “Bookmark this site now”, “Enter Your Email” or “Click Here for Your Free E-Book”; tell them, you may never see them again. Blow their minds with shortcuts, valuable content, free stuff and hidden tools and before you know it you could have a virus on your hands, lots of visitors and faithful followers.
If traffic is visiting your site; pay attention. Keep an eye out for what people are talking about the most. Look for themes and trends and deliver content on those themes.
Write for humans first, computers second, and connect with your audience.
The sooner you get plugged into Web 2.0’s social marketing the faster you’ll have amazing amounts of traffic coming to your website.

A Day in the Life of an Internet Marketer
May 28, 2009
7.30am
Up and at em, that’s my motto. Forget about staying in bed until midday, having a relaxing breakfast in the garden, strolling into my home office, turning on the computer and checking my PayPal and click bank accounts, to see how much money I’ve made. According to some internet marketers, this is how they spend their days. Get real!
This does happen occasionally as a treat, but every day? don’t make me laugh. If I did this ever day, I wouldn’t have an internet business left. You must put in the hours if you’re serious about making money on the internet.
8.00am
Had my breakfast (cappuccino and two slices of toast). I’m now in my home office, sat at my desk. My fist job as with every morning is to check my things to do list. This consists of checking my bank accounts, going through my in box, going through my pending box, going through my internet things to do list, checking my emails and going through the post from the previous day. This keeps me right on top of my internet activities.
10.20am
I begin to write five articles, the subjects are: Maverick Money Makers, GVO, The Internet Marketing Centre, Stephen Pierce and Simon Hodgkinson products. These are five affiliate partners I am currently promoting. I am committed to write an article each day for each affiliate.
12.00am
The articles have been written, spell checked, and read several times. I now need to submit them to the following article directories. Ezine Articles.com, I Snare.com, Go Articles.com, Article Base.com & Easy Articles.com. All these are free directories except isnare.com, where I pay less than a dollar per article. However, the articles are published to over 1,000 sites all over the internet, so it’s well worth the money.
1.00pm
I eat the following lunch: Ham salad, banana, cappuccino and a glass of fresh orange. I also take a walk, as I need a break from the office.
2.15pm
Back at my desk. Check my emails, amongst other things, eight emails from internet marketers including Mike Filsaime, Frank Kern, Michael Cheney, Liz Tomey, Jeff Dedrick, Simon Hodgkinson, Stephen Pierce and Joel Therien. Three of them are promoting the same product. This tells me two things:
Firstly, it must be a really great product, something that I simply can’t do with out. Or secondly, it’s a mediocre product and the only reason for the recommendations are the affiliate commissions. After a quick look at the product I conclude it’s the latter of the two, not worth my time and definitely not worth my money.
2.30pm
I begin to work on my latest product, an ebook for internet beginners. I’ve been working on this project for about two weeks now. It’s coming on very nicely. I want it to be at least 50 pages long, full of simple step by step tips on how to get started on the internet. I have many products on this subject, so I’m taking a few ideas and using my own personal experience.
4.30pm
I get changed and it’s off to my local gym. I’ve been going there for over ten years now.
6.00pm
Back from the gym. Did a work out, ran two miles, and had a laugh with the lads. I’m now back in the office. I check my affiliate programmes to see if I’ve made any commissions. I’ve made quite a few sales, but to be honest it’s a bit disappointing. However, there’s no need to feel down, as this is exactly what internet marketing is all about. Sales are always up and down, the secret is to be persistent and never ever stop promoting, learning and improving your internet businesses!
6.30pm
I complete a review for maverick money makers. This is a membership club for internet marketers. I am a member of the club, so I can use my own personal experiences, when writing reviews and promoting the product. It’s a good product so it’s easy to promote.
6.45pm
I finish the sales page for maverick money makers. It contains my personal review, as well as written and video testimonials. It looks ok, but I’m not sure about the header. I spend the next half hour creating a new header.
7.45pm
I’m getting a bit fed up now, I’ve been at it all day. However, I decide to plod on. I start working on my blog for wealth alive.com. This is one of my websites. I try to blog at least twice a week.
8.45pm
I eat my dinner of: tuna pasta, 2 slices of bread, cappuccino, glass of orange and a bar of chocolate (a twirl to be precise).
10pm
I take a shower. I have a great idea for a blog, must get it written down before I forget.
10.30pm
Start to write my blog idea. I’m not bothered about the spelling or how it sounds, I just let things flow, I will edit it later. The blog is about my views and personal experiences on affiliate marketing.
11.45pm
I log in to my maverick money makers members area and check out the latest updates. I listen to an audio recording by Lee Milteer, who is a Performance and Productivity Coach. It’s a great audio full of inspirational stories, tips and advice. Other speakers include, Jerry Clark, Mike Vance, Zig Ziglar, and Mark Victor Hansen.
2.00pm
I find myself pacing up and down my office trying to digest all the information from the audio. It really does give you a surge of energy, not to mention a head full of new ideas.
2.30pm
I make myself a mug of oveltine and hit the sack. Nite nite!

Stay On Top Or Disapper On The World Wide Web
May 28, 2009
If you have an Internet business or are involved in online marketing, then by now you must know that to succeed you must be in the top 30 sites displayed when a searcher conducts a query on one of the major search engines in your niche. To do this, you must know how to achieve a high ranking on at least one of the major search engines in order to atract online searches to your website. If you know how to do this, you are sure that your site will not become just another tiny dot in the vast World Wide Web, unknown, unheard of, and never visited.
The success of the Internet has made the fight to rank high on search engines a very challenging feat for website owners. You cannot rely on direct traffic coming from people who knew about your site firsthand to type your URL in their browsers. Today, website owners MUST use every tool available in their arsenal to make their site known on the Web.
Studies show that the majority of online users do not click through to the fourth search result page when browsing search results. If your site is in the top 10, you hit a jackpot. If you ranked on the 31st and below , your site isn’t likely to be seen. Don’t think that you’re safe in search engines that display more than 10 websites per search result page. Studies show that people don’t go beyond the 30th result.
To paint a concrete picture of how search engine ranking works to get you traffic, consider a website whose niche is on music lyrics. No matter how accurate and complete your lyrics archive is, if your website is not search engine optimized to appear on the top 30 search results, you will still not get the traffic you are after. Those websites that are ahead of you who’s got many other sites linking to it are most likely to dominate the top 30 place on search results. If you’re a new comer, you have a lot to work to do in order to search engine optimized your website in your particular niche. It’s next to impossible to get accidental visitors in your site if you are new, you must use SEO techniques to make your websites seen by online users.
SEO techniques are targeted to gather traffic for a website. Many SEO experts can drive traffic to your site. But, seasoned website owners know that increased traffic does not always mean higher sales. In order to convert your increased traffic to higher sales, you must target users that are actually searching for products or services that you offer. That is to say you have to use the right keyword to optimize your site.
In the past, great website contents were almost certain to get you increased traffic. But today, many great contents are wasted because the website owner did not use other SEO techniques to optimize his or her site. Other techniques you can implement to increase traffic to your website are: affiliate marketing and submitting to directories.

Beating The Recession By Becoming An Online Entrepreneur
May 28, 2009
In order to come up with the closest cure for recession, understanding why recessions happen should come first. Recession happens when market estimates for a certain period of time is shrinking – when there’s no growth in the market. Recession is marked by less demand in the market, thus company inventories pile up. To offset this huge drop in sales, companies are forced to sack workers. When workers are losing jobs, it even puts more pressure on the economy.
Recessions are not new to all economies in the world – they happen every once in a while. While the economy is in recession, there’s just not enough job for everybody to work in the market. In the U.S., 1 out of 3 individuals are put out of work in the labor market during recessions. These individuals are entitled to receive unemployment benefit from the Federal Government, which puts pressure on the government sector also. Government unemployment benefits can only go so far; people are forced to find other opportunities to fill their coffers.
Nowadays, one of the best places to look for a source of income is the Internet. If tapped properly, you can find many great and legitimate businesses or work opportunities online.
In order to beat a recession, the economy must start making money starting from its lowest sector, which is the individual consumer. Meaning, you have to make ways to earn money and like what’s mentioned above, the Internet is a very good place to look. But how do you start an online business? Where do you get the money to start and how do you market your product? Will people patronize whatever it is that you offer online? All of these questions are valid and they need to be properly addressed to succeed in online business. If course, there’s this fact that 95% of income-earning opportunities on the Web are scams also.
However, with due diligence and proper research, you can still find the best opportunities online with GDI. GDI or Global Domains International is the owner of the .ws domain name on the Web. Just like the all familiar .com or .net domains, .ws is needed by people who would like to launch a website. GDI are giving you the opportunity to make money by promoting the .ws domain name to people who needs them. With GDI affiliate program, you don’t need any product to sell and physically house any items. You don’t have to worry about paying people to help you run the business. You can do it all on your own in your own living room if you want.
GDI affiliate program works like this. Get your own .ws domain website and invite other online users to get one of their own also. For every person that you recruit, you are paid 1 dollar by GDI guaranteed. Not only that, for every person that is recruited by the person you recruit, you also earn another 1 dollar guaranteed by GDI. You can earn up to 5 levels of your down-line. To give you an idea of how much you can earn, let’s say you recruited 5 people. And the 5 people you recruited recruit another 5 people under their down-line, and so on and so forth until the 5th down-line level. This scheme alone earns you $3,905 guaranteed by GDI. Within the 5 level matrixes, there’s limit as to how many down-lines you can have. It all depends on how much you and your down-lines from the first to the fourth level recruited. There’s even a $500 bonus if you can recruit 25 members within a week.
With that kind of scheme, you might think that it could only be another scam out there. Luckily it’s not. GDI is a legitimate company guaranteed by the DSA (Direct Selling Association), which prosecutes and runs after pyramid scams themselves. On the same note, however, GDI is also is not a get-rich-quick kind of opportunity. Most of these kinds of opportunities are tell tale signs of scam. Your earnings will depend on how much effort you put on recruiting your down-lines.

The Importance of Building a List
May 27, 2009
I don’t know about you but, when I first began to consider the viability of creating an online business, everywhere I looked I kept being told that “you have to have a list”, “the money is in the list” etc., etc. Very occassionally I would receive an e-mail suggesting that, after all, it wasn’t neccessary to have a list. And, guess what, because it seemed like the easy option I convinced myself that it was, in fact, possible not to bother with a list, so to speak, despite the overwhelming evidence which suggested otherwise.
Well, I’ve been brought well and truly to my senses (thank goodness). One of the things that Chris Freville mentions time and time again, on his excellent Coaching and Mentoring Program, is the need to create a list. He is, of course, absolutely right and I have to say that I am now a 100% convert to this view. The one sure way to establish and maintain a sustainable long-term online business is to create a “bank” of loyal customers (aka a list) with whom you can build an on-going relationship for many years to come.
Having said that, just building a list is, in itself, not sufficient. You must be able to clearly identify the characteristics of that list so that every time you make contact with your list, the subject matter is relevant and pertinent to the reason(s) why those people opted-in to your list in the first place. Quality NOT quantity is very much the key. Do not fall into the trap of building any old list just for the sake of it. That will not work. Without a responsive, “highly-targeted” list of subscribers, creating a “presence” on the internet will be hard work, very hard work indeed.
“How do I create a list?” I hear you say. Well, that topic is for another day. It is imperative, in my view, that you fully understand the fundamental need to create a list before concerning yourself with how that might be achieved. I’m sure you will be pleased to know that there are many options which I will cover in due course. Firstly, though, we must learn to walk before we run.
Once you have a responsive list (and it will take time to create one) the world is your oyster, as it were, and you will be in a position to reap the rewards of the foundations you have built for as long as you wish to remain involved with the online world.
Always remember that “Rome was not built in a day”. List building can be exciting, frustrating, fun and painstaking all at the same time but once the first few subscribers appear, it is extraordinary how the whole process gains momemtum. It is generally considered that a well maintained list, regardless if its niche, will generate for its owner income of $1 per member per month. Imagine a list of, say, 10,000!!

Internet Banner Advertising - The Story So Far
May 27, 2009
Think about the past for a moment; can you recall the first time you came across internet banner advertising? Almost certainly, you saw your first banner advertising at the same time as you first saw the web itself!
Online advertising has been around since the mid 1990s, when people first started getting connected in significant numbers. As early as 1995, banner ads and other web advertising were ubiquitous; and it still is, but things have changed quite a bit since the early days of the internet. Technologies have advanced and the design of internet banner advertising has grown right along with the web and the changing ways that consumers respond to online advertising.
When the World Wide Web was still a novelty to many people, the response to banner advertising was far higher than it is now. People would click on almost anything which got their attention; so ads which flashed, bore garish color schemes or featured animation got results.
However, people have gotten their fill of these sorts of banners by now and most of us would rather not be flashed by web advertising every time we navigate to a site. The response rate to internet banner advertising has declined across the board in recent years. Does this mean that banner ads are a moribund format for online advertising?
According to the web advertising experts on the advertising news websites and forums, there is plenty of life in banner ads yet. Rather, it’s a question of what kind of internet banner advertising will and will not work with today’s savvier web users. While some of the media buying and advertising agencies out there find it a bitter pill to swallow, a consensus is emerging that simple banner ads which don’t intrude on the user experience are the way forward for online advertising.
Banner ads which integrate well into the sites where they are placed (and importantly, do not annoy readers) still work – and some publishers are doing very well indeed with these types of banners.
Getting results from internet banner advertising just requires careful attention to design and an understanding of consumer response on the sites offering placements. Before you deploy a campaign of banner advertising, look at the publisher’s statistics; you’ll want to see the average click through rate per 5,000 impressions.
Publishers will use systems to track ad response (if they don’t, you may want to reconsider this placement), so this information should be available.
When you find a site which you’re confident is popular with your target demographic, you may want to try out a banner for 10,000 impressions to see the response rate for yourself. If the response is in line with the statistics the publisher has provided and meets your own expectations, then stick with this placement. It can be challenging to find effective online advertising placements, so a site which gives you results from your internet banner advertising is a valuable resource indeed.
There is still a place for internet banner advertising; it’s just a matter of finding the best placements for your business and matching the design to your audience.

How is Search Engine Marketing Like High School?
May 27, 2009
It has everything to do with popularity. Remember high school. Making friends, joining teams and clubs and basically your overall success had to do with linking. If you became friends with someone well-liked in a particular sphere you too became almost instantly popular. A simple smile and a wave from the right student could rocket you popularity and ‘ranking’.
This same concept is true with search engine rankings. When a search engine sees a link to your website from another site this is considered a vote for your site. As opposed to a democracy, votes by linking are not all created equal. The more important, popular, relevant and authoritative the website is that links to you the stronger the vote. This is why it’s important to get your site listed in the bigger directories such as DMOZ. Although I don’t believe anyone actually uses DMOZ for searching a link from this site is considered important to acceptance and ranking in Google, MSN and Yahoo.
The question is how do you go about getting these links. The first step is to see what links you already have.
To do this you go to the search bar and type in one of the following:
link:InternetAdvertisingDictionary.com (Your Domain Name) Available in Yahoo and Google
links:InternetAdvertisingDictionary.com (Your Domain Name) Available in Yahoo, Google and MSN
linkdomain:InternetAdvertisingDictionary.com (Your Domain Name) Available in Yahoo
Once you check this you’ll know how you currently stand with the big three. The next step is to find out something about your competition. The rule here is that someone who links to your competition may well be willing to link to you. You probably have some idea who your competition is. Pick one or two competitor sites and check for links as above. If they don’t have more links than you do think of a bigger competitor.
A great way to get the information you need to do this competitor research is to type into Google:
info:internetadvertisingdictionary.com (Your Domain Name)
Google will display a page such as the following:
1.Internet Advertising Dictionary - Definitions and Articles about …
A dictionary of Internet Advertising Terms and more detailed articles at beginning, intermediate and advanced levels.
internetadvertisingdictionary.com/
Google can show you the following information for this URL:
• Show Google’s cache of internetadvertisingdictionary.com
• Find web pages that are similar to internetadvertisingdictionary.com
• Find web pages that link to internetadvertisingdictionary.com
• Find web pages from the site internetadvertisingdictionary.com
• Find web pages that contain the term “internetadvertisingdictionary.com”
By clicking on any of the links shown you’ll get a treasure chest of information about the site you entered. Once you try this on your own site do the same for your competitor’ sites.
Eventually you’ll find someone with lots of links. Now honestly compare your site to theirs. How does your site hold up. Would you want to link to your site? Work on your site so you really like it and think it offers content worth linking to. Also, remember all websites are works in progress. Keep developing your site as you request links. Search engines also likes website site that are changing and growing.
Now contact those websites that are linking to your competition. Explain why it would benefit them to link to you. In some cases, a simple link exchange may do the trick.
Be willing to put in some time in acquiring links. I doesn’t happen over night. But it’s worth all the time invested.

Is Design or Message More Important to a Successful Website?
May 27, 2009
So you’ve decided on a new business website. You want the site to stand out – be different. You love the idea of interactivity, and flash design seems to be the thing that you notice most when you visit sites around the web.
“Oh, this is going to be big,” you tell yourself. But is it?
Website design can be about one of two things – design or message. Knowing the difference and how it could affect your business is important.
Let’s take a look at the compelling differences between the two in order to help you come to terms with your future website.
Design
This element is all about your website’s buzz factor. Site visitors may spread the news to others to encourage them to take a look. Your visitors may love those elemental touches that inspire a sense of awe.
Design is costly, but many business owners believe it is worth it when they see the stats that indicate a significant number of prospective customers are on board with the new design and coming back for more.
Message
This is the story of your company – the plan of action you have to help your customers. It is more straightforward and is more readily caught by potential customers. It may seem as though fewer visitors are finding the site, but the design was less expensive and the message is on target.
Which one sells?
You might be surprised that many business owners are increasingly choosing message over design. This doesn’t mean these men and women aren’t interested in design. They are simply more interested in passing along an effective message that reaches motivated consumers.
The ‘fewer frills’ economy design is more cost effective and often results in the business owner being able to develop and display some of the new content without the help of a web master.
A Hard Truth
The message is what sells a product. When a site design is so focused on drawing attention to itself it becomes a popular site with no specific business purpose. I suppose that’s a broad overstatement of the case, but the truth is there are many sites that are underperforming because they have placed too much emphasis on design and that very emphasis has overshadowed the message.
The Argument
The standard discussion seems to be that visitors will come for design and stick around for the message, but comparatively speaking a message oriented site can be more successful simply by articulating a compelling message. If done correctly this message should provide ample reason for the site visitors to feel a call to action. By default the message provided the motivation to purchase.
The Cost Effective Solution
A rampant belief among business owners is that in order for a website to be effective it must be expensive to develop. A growing number of businesses are discovering this is simply not true.
The growth of web development tools makes it possible for businesses to develop complete websites in a very short period of time. The templates provide a surprisingly good look without overpowering your personally created message. The design becomes a tasteful element that welcomes ‘message’ seekers.
Technology is a great tool as long as it is actually useful to the actual objectives of the business owner.

Save For a Rainy Day With Online Surveys
May 26, 2009
Taking online free surveys is an option that more and more people are exploring during times plagued by job and salary cuts. With recession on in full swing, credit lines are getting tighter and the general uncertainty in almost every industry, not knowing what you will do in case you need cash for an emergency or for a long pending commitment has become a dilemma that most of us are living with. A very good home business opportunity that you can check out for getting some extra cash in your kitty is to take surveys or join a site where you get paid to fill out consumer surveys.
You might have heard a lot about online free surveys if you have been exploring ways of earning money on the internet. However, there is a lot of true and untrue information floating around when you get down to cash surveys. For one, if you are planning to make some money through taking surveys, then understand that you will never be earning enough to buy a Porsche within a month. Maybe not even within a year, unless that is all you do day and night. You should also never give anybody any money for sending you surveys, because the company whose survey forms you are filling out is supposed to be paying you, not vice versa.
With these two misconceptions out of the way, let us get down to the bare facts about free online surveys. These surveys are free surveys because they are sent to you without any payment. On the other hand, you get paid to do surveys since you provide companies with useful information on which they can base their business strategies, products and services. Cash paid surveys can prove to be a great source of supplementary income, and if you do it properly, you can easily earn anywhere between $500 and $1500 a month by spending approximately two hours everyday taking surveys.
A single cash paid survey that takes 10 minutes of your time will get you somewhere around $3 to $5. Longer surveys will pay even more. As you become experienced, you will be able to take more surveys in lesser time. However, it is not advised that you give up your full time job in order to earn through cash paid surveys. This is because a lot of online surveys will offer you freebies ranging from clothing and accessories to free iPods and MP3 players. You can get all these free goodies and extra income simply by taking online free surveys.
Due to this reason, online free surveys can be a great source of earning for people who are already unemployed, retired, working from home, or students looking for some extra cash. You can also use them to supplement your income if you are working full time with a regular job. Taking surveys can help you save a small nest egg for times of need or when you simply feel like splurging a little!
Donny Gamble is the owner of a get paid to website where you can get paid to complete surveys online. To start earning money by completing surveys and offers, visit Shop4points.com
